Carnival Pride to mexico

Has anyone recently cruised Carnival Pride to mexico? I would love to do some beach snorkeling. Any suggestions for a novice snorkeler for beach selections in PV or Mazatlan? Any other wouldn't miss shore excursions you would recommend?
