Great Mexican Party Music, Oaxaca Style
If any Mexico fans are looking for an amazing Mexican party C.D., I'd like to make a recommendation. The new CD by Lila (pronounced "Leela") Downs titled "La Cantina" is one of the finest CDs in my collection. This is a compilation of Mexican Drinking songs old and new. As many people know, Lila Downs sang much of the music in the film "Frida." Her band is truly international and each band member is a true artist as an individual. On a scale of 1-10 this CD is over the top of that scale. All I can say is "Wow!" There is not one cut that is not fantastic.
